Women of the ELCA

Women of the ELCA is the women’s organization of the 4.8 million-member Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. This network of nearly 500,000 participants in 64 geographical areas (called synods) in the United States and the Caribbean exists for mutual support and bold action on participants’ faith in Jesus Christ.

The Mission Statement of the women of the ELCA is, "To mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ."

This mission statement was born out of an organizational self-assessment in 2001. Within the framework of the mission statement, Women of the ELCA carries out its purpose statement, which expounds upon the mission, providing further explanation of the mission.

The programmatic theme for the 2005–2008 triennium is "Act Boldly," giving women in the organization the opportunity to explore their boldness and to act upon it in various arenas and activities of daily life.

Our group at Peace meets bi-monthly at one of our members homes. We take this time for fellowship, building loving relationships and growing closer to God through scripture.

If you are interested in joining our group, please check the fellowship board in the narthex for our next meeting time and location.
